| Let me first address the NeoPets issue. I can see how you might not want your children getting the idea that these creatures aren't real, but then, why stop there? Why not ban imaginary friends, stuffed animals, robotic dogs (Poochi) and cats (KITTY), or even realistic fiction books, as they aren't REAL, are they? Why not take away every form of comfort a child has ever had, simply because it's "teaching" something you don't want taught? Look at it this way: Maybe when I got into a fight with my best friend, it was better that I went to my room and read Harry Potter until I felt better than call her and yell words that might not be too kind. Maybe it was better that I clung to what's not real than spending a day crying or possibly destroying people or things that meant something to me.
We need these things to pull us from the cruel reality, which is exactly why you dislike them so, is it not? Maybe a child with a bisexual mother needs to hide in his or her favorite website, rather than wallowing over cruel things many people- most of them die-hard Christians- have said about the matter? Or this child needs to concentrate more on the problems of a fictionial character rather than wallow over the fact that his or her family doesn't have the same rights as another family- something that is unconstitutional, but doesn't seem to matter when it's people committing the terrible, heinous crime of loving.
Take it from a teenager struggling with what sometimes seems to be too much, when you think about Harry Potter trying to save the world from one of the most powerful people ever to represent evil, your own problems don't seem to be so horrible any more.

I happened to stumble upon your site while looking for some things to make a user lookup. I was alarmed when I read that you were against Harry Potter, NeoPets, and Star Wars. I want to make it very clear that I know that you will always find some dumb contradiction to what I say, but I would like to TRY to make a point. Yes, these things include magic and forces. No, they are not evil. Last year at school I learned about books and movies that have been challenged and banned. Do you know what one of those stories was? Little Red Riding Hood. At this I became outraged that ANYONE could be so moronic. I would like to say that you should allow kids to read and see what they want (Unless, it's, like rated R or NC-17) And I must ask, have you ever READ Harry Potter? Have you ever played Neopets? (In fact, I think NeoPets is TOO uptight.) Have you ever TRIED to see Star Wars from our point of view. Yes, the power of suggestion can be very strong. But if it's strong one way, it can be strong the other way. And have you ever stopped to think "Maybe they're so open to suggestion because of ME?" I read in a book about lycanthropic metamorphasis that people are open to suggestion because of something major affecting them like moving, or parents divorcing, or getting married, or something like that. And in fact, all you have to do is assure kids before and after they've read something or seen something that magic does not exist, there is no force. And did you ever stop to think that this force may be God, but George Lucas didn't want it to look like a huge motion picture about Christianity? Hmm? There are many possibilities, they don't all have to be evil. I always say: "If you think these things are evil, you have an evil-obsessed mind." You are so obsessed with tracking down evil that you get addicted to it and you try to find it in the strangest places. It's like a drug. You are letting in the very thing you are trying to get rid of! I mean, c'mon. What's next? "Goodnight Moon" has been banned for encouraging kids to talk to inatimate objects? That's just stupid.
